Ann Fears Crawford
Dr. Crawford, an authority on Sam Houston, writes in an entertaining and knowledgeable manner from her life-long research and study of the Houston and the era of the Texas Republic and statehood.
Betsy Warren
Betsy Warren has an art education degree from Miami University in Ohio and attended the Chicago Art Institute. She wrote and illustrated many books for children. Most of them are about her favorite subject, Texas. Her works of historical non-fiction include Twenty Texans, Indians Who Lived in Texas, and a Let's Remember series of five books about the people and events in Texas history. She also wrote for magazines and worked as a musician. Betsy is now retired and lives in Austin.
Carol Hoff
The late Carol Hoff was a high school librarian and author of Johnny Texas and Johnny Texas on the San Antonio Road.
Jane Cook
A writer, graphic designer and speaker, Ms. Cook has spent a decade working in communications and media relations at universities and government agencies. Since 1998 she has developed web sites for elected officials, including the official web site and children's web site for Present George W. Bush when he was governor of Texas. A native Texan, Ms. Cook earned a bachelor's degree in 1992 from Baylor University and a master's degree from Texas A & M University in 1998. She, her husband and children live in Alexandria, Virginia.
Jane Thielemann
Jane Thielemann is an associate professor of education in the College of Public Service at the University of Houston-Downtown, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in the Department of Urban Education. She currently resides in Houston, Texas.
Lillian M. Fisher
Lillian M. Fisher is an author, artist and poet with a great interest in the Southwest.
Ruby C. Tolliver
Author of novels for children and young adults, Ruby Tolliver, has a particular interest in history. Her novel, Muddy Banks, about the Civil War battle of Sabine Pass in Texas, has been a prize winner. Some of her other outstanding historical novels are Blind Bess, Buddy, and ME; Have Gun, Need Bullets; and Boomer's Kids. Ms. Tolliver and her husband, a retired engineer, live in Conroe, Texas. They have two daughters, one son, and seven grandchildren. When not writing, Ms. Tolliver is involved in church activities and in being a grandmother.
