Betsy Warren
Betsy Warren has an art education degree from Miami University in Ohio and attended the Chicago Art Institute. She wrote and illustrated many books for children. Most of them are about her favorite subject, Texas. Her works of historical non-fiction include Twenty Texans, Indians Who Lived in Texas, and a Let's Remember series of five books about the people and events in Texas history. She also wrote for magazines and worked as a musician. Betsy is now retired and lives in Austin.
Donna Cooner
Donna Cooner, Ed.D. is the author of over ten books for children---including regional, religious, and mass market titles. A former elementary teacher and administrator, Dr. Cooner is currently a teacher and educator at Texas A&M University. She has taught writing to both children and adults and is a frequent speaker at schools and writing conferences. She lives with her dog, a Yorkshire terrier named Max, and a cat named Mischief in Bryan, Texas.
Janet Kaderli
Janet is a New Braunfels elementary school teacher who drew some of these tales from stories told in her husband's pioneer New Braunfels family
John Lash
John Lash's personal experiences form the basis for the action. Lash grew up in a cowboy family. He attended Texas A&M University where he played in the famous Aggie Band. He performed in rodeos and worked on ranches in Texas and New Mexico. The illustrations were done by the author whose work is sold in the States as well as in Switzerland where he now lives on a farm. He teaches riding, writes and illustrates.
M. M. Dee
M.M. Dee has written numerous short stories, and four mystery novels for teenagers in addition to this fact/fiction book, Jason Jackrabbit.
Mary Blount Christian
Ms. Christian has published more the 100 books for children that include fiction and non-fiction. She is familiar with the land of boots and saddles and calls Houston, Texas, home.
