Meet our Authors

G. Elaine Acker
Elaine Acker is a native of Longview, Texas, but lives in Austin where she now works for the Texas Parks and Wildlife. After earning her bachelor's degree in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin, Ms. Acker completed a master's degree in English from the University of St. Thomas.  Ms. Acker is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and the National Council of Teachers in English.

Jeanne Williams
Jeanne Williams is a member of the Texas Institute of Letters and a past president of the Western Writers of America. She earned the Levi Strauss Golden Saddleman Award - given for a lifetime of contribution to Western Literature - and is a four time Spur Award winner.

Ruby Tolliver
Author of novels for children and young adults, Ruby Tolliver, has a particular interest in history.  Her novel, Muddy Banks, about the Civil War battle of Sabine Pass in Texas, has been a prize winner.  Some of her other outstanding historical novels are Blind Bess, Buddy, and ME; Have Gun, Need Bullets; and Boomer's Kids.  Ms. Tolliver and her husband, a retired engineer, live in Conroe, Texas.  They have two daughters, one son, and seven grandchildren.  When not writing, Ms. Tolliver is involved in church activities and in being a grandmother.
